Supercross Me is the follow-up novel to Motocross Me, and it picks up slightly ahead of where Motocross Me left off. Just like the well-written description reveals, this novel starts off with a break-up. Ash’s supercross career is taking off, and with it comes money and fame– both of which Hana and Ash have trouble adjusting to. The story is written in alternating time-frames, going from past to present every few chapters. I love Hana and Ash’s realistic characters and relationships, but the transition between past and present was a bit jolting for me and made it harder to read. I found once there were more present tense chapters I was breezing through the book, because I didn’t have to adjust for the reversion in time. I truly enjoyed watching Hana step up to the plate with her family and watching her and Ash work things out. The level of the relationship and the issues in it were spot on for the age group and I can see 16-22 year old’s really connecting with the way the book is written. I would be satisfied if this were the end of the series, but I’d definitely be interested in seeing how things work out with Ash’s career and Hana, maybe, running the track? Overall, this was a quick read once the alternating chapters ended and was spot on for the age group that Hana and Ash are.
