Music Monday

10 YearsARTIST: 10 Years

SONG: One More Day

ALBUM: Feeding the Wolves

LYRICS:

The walls are closing in around us
We hold our silence like a gun
Your stare is empty at a scene that keeps repeating
And I just bite my tongue

They can’t take this away, it’s far from over
We can’t stay in a place we don’t belong

For one more day, I’m not afraid to fall
For one more day, we try to save it all

Footsteps will fade away the memories
Unload the words and breathe again
Our eyes are focused on an unexplored horizon
Of what has always been

They can’t take this away, it’s far from over
We can’t stay in a place we don’t belong

For one more day, I’m not afraid to fall
For one more day, we try to save it all

I won’t let you look back
If you will help me see clearly

They can’t take this away, it’s far from over
We can’t stay in a place we don’t belong

For one more day, I’m not afraid to fall (far from over)
For one more day, we try to save it all

For one more day, (They can’t take this away, it’s far from over)
I’m not afraid to fall (We can’t stay in a place we don’t belong)
For one more day, (They can’t take this away, it’s far from over)
We try to save it all

ANALYSIS: Wonderful lyrics as usual from 10 years. This is their latest album and you can tell that the band has matured, and is as talented as ever. I enjoy the slow start with the guitar riff and piano, the build up with the drums comes with the emotion of the song–the strength in the lyrics is mirrored by the edition of the electronic metal guitar riff. The rhythm blends with the words, and moves with the lyrics empowered by the chorus.

As usual I’ve placed a clue to my work in progress in bold.
