Back in ACTION!

Thank you everyone for your patience and understand while I took a break to handle some personal items. To say the least, last week was extremely stressful, but in the end my husband and I ended up with (after lots of tears and mascara stains) a pretty red Honda Civic. Why change something that you love?

This week I am going to start two new weekly installments of posts: Work In Progress Wednesday, and officially start Sales Saturday.

Also, you may have seen some changes to my website. There are now official teasers for each of my upcoming novels, all three of The Sight Trilogy novels, Permafrost (The Fall, #2), and Let the Fates Decide. These are teasers, and are not meant to be the book blurbs, as is such they are written in first person. Let me know what you think!

Next, my novels are also officially available directly through my Etsy site as e-books. This will be very pertinent information in the first few weeks of December.

So, what’s coming up?

Press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Norwich, CT-Local young adult author, Cassandra Giovanni, is proud to partner with her Alma Mater, Norwich Free Academy, for a book signing on November 29th, 2012 at 4:00 PM at the school’s Edwin H. Land Library. Cassandra graduated in 2007 and still uses the skills she learned there today as a professional writer and photographer. NFA helped to solidify her parent’s values that she should never give up hope in her dreams and that the only one who stood in the way of her success was herself. Cassandra will be signing her debut novel, post-apocalyptic romance, In Between Seasons and her recently released romantic suspense, Walking in the Shadows. There will also be other book merchandise available such as bookmarks, key chains, original photographic prints and necklaces.

For more information go to www.cgiovanniwrites.wordpress.com or contact the Edwin H. Land Library.

Deleted December:

I will be sharing deleted scenes on every Music Monday during the month of December!

Deftones December:

Music Mondays will be devoted to one of my favorite bands, and key to inspiration of some of my darker novels, Deftones. You will get to see not only my personal favorites, but also my husband’s!

NOW! Onto the music!

SONG: NJ Legion Iced Tea

TRACK FEATURES: Hard rock roots, varying tempo and time signatures, major key tonality, dirty electric guitar riffs

ARTIST: A Day to Remember

ALBUM: Homesick

GENRE: Emo, Hardcore, Metal

LYRICS:

Get up, get out,
This is your wake up call,
We run this town and you can fight us all,
We keep on coming back for more,
And don’t think you can hold us down,
We’ll tear this building down,
Try to be careful what you say

Give it up, your tact is astounding,
Find your place and leave us with some peace of mind,
You do this every time

So here’s to another better year,
we’ve crossed that thin line,
don’t try to hold us here,
If for just this once you’d think of us,
I hope you’re happy with yourself,

Get up, get out,
who’s gonna break our fall,
When we don’t back down, they’re gonna seem so small,
We keep em running for the door,

Just when things will come back around,
It’s too late for them, they’re heading straight for a meltdown,
I’m not a part of your cliché,

Give it up, your tact is astounding,
Find your place and leave us with some peace of mind,
You do this every time

So here’s to another better year,
We’ve crossed that thin line,
don’t try to hold us here,
And if for just this once you’d think of us,
I hope you’re happy with yourself,
[x2]

Just think about, just think about everything,
Be careful now, be careful what you say,
Run Away

This is the life we show, this is the life I lead,
They can never take this from me
[x2]

So here’s to another better year,
We’ve crossed that thin light don’t try to hold us here,
And for just this once you’d think of us,
I hope you’re happy with yourself,
[x2]

So here’s to another better year,
I hope you’re happy with yourself.

ANALYSIS: Alright, I am just going to come out and say it. This song is not a favorite of mine. It sounds too punk rock for my tastes; it reminds me of Greenday. I know there are plenty of Greenday fans, but I am not one of them. Why is this song not a favorite of mine? Why am I not a fan of A Day To Remember? A) it’s not heavy enough, the music feels flat to me minus the dirty guitar riff at the end (which makes me happy) B) I am not a fan of the whiney part of the singers voice. The lyrics though, are good. This song, for some odd reason, popped up on my Chiodos radio. I think the said whininess is reflected in the old Chiodos main singer. I do like some (only some) of the older Chiodos songs though, I do whole heartedly love the new singer on the Illuminaudio CD. I must say that every song on that CD makes my fingers tap the computer like they are on fire, which I have been doing since Friday. Big Smiles all around for that one. WIP Wednesday will be a good one!

Stay tuned 😉
